Switching on/off
The tripmeter after the power is turned on (inserting the fuse, turning on the chopper, turning on the additional switch) is ready for operation.
The tripmeter does not have a power switch.
In positions unrelated to measurements, when there is no voltage on the yellow wire (ignition switch), the tripmeter turns off the screen.
Due to the permanent memory of the measurements, which continues to operate even after the power is switched off, switching on the tripmeter can result in two independent scenarios:
Starting measurements after power-up
When the power is turned on, the tripmeter will automatically start measuring.
There are two possible scenarios:
- a tripmeter that was switched off during measurement will continue the measurement from the stored values
- a tripmeter that was switched off during the start-up screen will start measuring from zero values
Calling up the start screen
The start screen of the H-100 tripmeter is a position in which no measurements are taken. The tripmeter screen shows its name and active options: tripmeter or tripmeter + azimuth. Active options result from purchased options. From this position it is possible to go to the tripmeter menu (see chapter |H-100| Configuration) which contains items regarding settings and calibration. In this item you can update the tripmeter function options.
- hold the MENU button for a long time (approx. 6 seconds) in each position of the tripmeter to display the start screen
Starting measurement from the start screen
When you see the start screen on the tripmeter screen:
- press RUN briefly to bring up the standby screen (does not work? see |H-100| FAQ)
- then press CLR to start measuring
Reset to factory settings
To reset the H-100 tripmeter to factory settings, follow these steps:
- switch off the power supply to the tripmeter
- press the CLR and OK buttons simultaneously and hold them (until further notice)
- switch on the power supply of the tripmeter
- the tripmeter switches on normally by beeping 4 times
- then beeps twice as long
- restarts (release buttons)
Note: Resetting to factory settings will result in the loss of all data and user settings.
Updating options
To update the H-100 tripmeter options, you must first have the current software version. An option update can then be installed, which is provided by the manufacturer. Copy the options file to a memory stick. We recommend that there is no other data on the memory stick and the formatting is done in the FAT32 file system with default allocation settings, etc.
- bring the tripmeter to the position of the start screen
- insert memory stick
- wait for confirmation to appear Options updated.
Firmware update
A firmware update is the process of updating the software. You can obtain the latest software versions from the manufacturer. Updating the software does not change the purchased options. The firmware is secured by encryption.
Save the firmware file on a pendrive under the name firmware.bin
To update the software:
- press MENU for a few seconds to bring the tripmeter to the start screen position
- when you start from the start screen, skip step 1
- switch off the power supply to the tripmeter
- Insert the memory stick into the USB connector of the tripmeter
- switch on the power supply of the tripmeter
- 2 short beeps and another 4 short beeps will confirm the detection of a new version of the program (you only receive 4 short beeps and the tripmeter starts? See |H-100| FAQ)
- The program is being updated
- wait for the tripmeter to turn on (max. 30 seconds) which will be signaled by 4 short beeps
Status bar
The lower part of the screen is intended to display supporting information for the user, such as:
- time
- name of the data file when using it
