Tripmeter calibration
The simplest method of calibrating a tripmeter is to match the ODO distance display to the actual distance travelled of a known length. The length of the section can be any, the longer the section the more accurate the calibration, but the calibration section should not be longer than a few kilometres.
- Press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the start screen position.
When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this point - turn on the metrometer in the measurement position ( ODO and TRIP will equal 0 )
- set ODO in window A
- Drive a stretch of road of known length
- stop at the end of it
- press CAL briefly 2 x, which causes the current calibration factor to flash
- press the arrow buttons and bring the ODO distance indication ( which will replace the calibration factor value on the display ) to the known distance you have travelled
- Press OK briefly to accept the change or leave it on the screen, and after 6 seconds the change will be accepted.
Calibration value measurement function
It is possible to measure the calibration value in the H-101 metrometer. You can measure on a section of any length, but enter into the metrometer the calibration value converted for a road section of 1000m. ( For example, if you measure at 100m, multiply the measured value x 10 and enter into the metrometer ).
- Press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the start screen position.
When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this point. - Press the F button briefly until POM is shown, then press the OK button. The appearance of 0 when the meter does not count pulses or the counting screen when the meter counts pulses confirms that the function has been activated
- press the CLR button to erase the measured value and start the measurement again ( for example, at the beginning of the calibration section )
- press OK button to stop the measurement
- press the OK button to save the measurement or the F button to resume the measurement
Calibration value entry function
It is possible to enter a known calibration value in the H-101 metrometer.
- Press MENU long to bring the metrometer to the start screen position.
When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this point. - Press the F button briefly until WPIS is shown, then press the OK button . The appearance of the _ sign confirms the start of the function
- enter the calibration value using the buttons:
- UP and DOWN briefly change the value of the digit,
- OK briefly, which moves the digit to the left and allows you to enter the next digit
- CLR briefly, deletes the last digit ( by pressing the menu you can back out of typing completely )
- Press the OK button long to save the entered coefficient
GPS-enabled auto-calibration function *.
When you slow down or the GPS signal weakens during the measurement, the auto-calibration will be interrupted and you will see the blinking word AUTO.
The metrometer can be autocalibrated using GPS. Autocalibration can replace the calibration section.
- Press MENU long to bring the metrometer to the start screen position.
When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this point. - Press the F button briefly until AUTO is shown, then press the OK button.
- When you see the word AUTO flashing, start the calibration . The measurement will start when the vehicle speed is greater than 15 km/h and the number of satellites is greater than 6.
- press F briefly to abort and restart auto calibrations at any time
- drive until the counting stops, which will mean driving 1000 m and completing auto calibration
- Press the OK button long to save the measured coefficient
Activation of calibration factor – only when MULTIk parameter = ON
NOTE. When the Multi k option is enabled after storing the value, you will see a screen designed for entering the calibration memory number under which you will store the measured value
When using multiple calibration factors ( e.g. for different tyre sizes ) , a calibration factor must be selected from memory in order to be active. The selection of a coefficient is permanent – it will be used for calculations until another value is selected.
- during measurements, press 1 x CAL briefly – you will see the active coefficient
- press UP or DOWN to browse through the stored coefficients
- select coefficient
- press OKbutton brieflyor wait 6 seconds to save the selection
Checking the value of the active factor
- Press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the start screen position.
When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this point. - turn off and then turn on the power of the metrometer
- you will see the digits 8888, and then the lower window will display the active calibration factor, and the upper right corner will display the memory number
Calibration menu with MULTIk = ON
When the MULTIk parameter is set to ON, when measuring, typing or self-calibrating, you will have to enter the memory number under which you will store the coefficient after validating the measured value.
- perform measurement, typing or auto-calibration according to the relevant chapters and confirm the measured/typed value
- when you see the [ _ ] sign after approval, press UP or DOWN to enter the memory number under which you will save the factor
- Press the OK button to save the calibration value and memory number
NOTES. Entering a calibration factor into memory does not automatically activate it.
