Tripmeter calibration

The simplest method of tripmeter calibration is matching the ODO road indication to the actual length of the traveled section of known length. The length of the section can be any, the longer the section, the more accurate the calibration, however, the calibration section should not be longer than a few kilometers.

  • press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the home screen position.
  • When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this step
  • turn the tripmeter to measurement position (ODO and TRIP will equal 0)
  • set ODO in window A
  • drive a section of road of known length
  • stop at its end
  • press CAL briefly 2x which will flash the current calibration factor
  • press the arrow buttons and bring the indication of the ODO path (which will replace the value of the calibration coefficient on the display) to the known distance you have covered
  • press OK briefly to accept the change or leave it on the screen and after 6 seconds the change will be accepted.

Calibration value measurement function

In the H-101 tripmeter, it is possible to measure the calibration value. You can measure on a section of any length, however, enter the calibration value calculated for a 1000m long section of the road into the tripmeter. (e.g. if you measure for 100 m, multiply the measured value x 10 and enter it into the tripmeter).

  • press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the home screen position.
  • When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this step
  • press the F button briefly until POM is shown, then press the OK button. The appearance of the digit 0 when the tripmeter is not counting impulses or the counting screen when the tripmeter is counting impulses confirms the activation of the function
  • press the CLR button to delete the measured value and start the measurement again (e.g. at the beginning of the calibration section)
  • press the OK button to stop the measurement
  • press the OK button to save the measurement or the F button to resume the measurement

Calibration value entry function

In the H-101 tripmeter, it is possible to enter a known calibration value.

  • press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the home screen position.
  • When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this step
  • press the F button briefly until ENTRY appears, then press the OK button . The appearance of the _ sign confirms that the function has been started
  • enter the calibration value using the buttons:
  • UP and DOWN briefly change the digit value,
  • OK briefly, which moves the digit to the left and allows you to enter the next digit
  • CLR briefly, deletes the last digit (by pressing the menu you can completely withdraw from entering)
  • press the OK button long to save the entered factor

Auto calibration function using GPS*

When during the measurement you slow down or the GPS signal weakens, the auto-calibration will be interrupted and you will see a flashing word AUTO.

The tripmeter has the option of auto-calibration using the GPS system. Auto-calibration can replace the calibration section.

  • press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the home screen position.
  • When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this step
  • press the F button briefly until AUTO is shown, then press the OK button.
  • when you see the flashing word AUTO, start the calibration. The measurement will start when the vehicle speed is greater than 15 km/h and the number of satellites is greater than 6.
  • press F briefly to abort and restart auto calibration at any time
  • drive until the calculation stops, which will mean driving 1000 m and ending the auto calibration
  • long press the OK button to save the measured ratio

Activation of the calibration factor – only when the MULTIk parameter = ON

ATTENTION. When the Multi k option is on, after saving the value, you will see a screen for entering the number of the calibration memory under which you will save the measured value.

When using multiple calibration factors (e.g. for different tire sizes), the calibration factor must be selected from memory to be active. The choice of the factor is permanent – it will be used for calculations until another value is selected.

  • when measuring, press 1 x CAL briefly – you will see the active factor
  • press UP or DOWN to scroll through the stored coefficients
  • choose a factor
  • press the OK button briefly or wait 6 seconds to save the selection

Checking the value of the active coefficient

  • press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the home screen position.
  • When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this step
  • turn the tripmeter power off and then on
  • you will see the digits 8888, then the active calibration factor will be displayed in the lower window and the memory number in the upper right corner

Calibration menu with parameter MULTIk = ON

When the MULTIk parameter is set to ON, during measurements, writing or auto-calibration, after confirming the measured value, you will have to enter the memory number in which you will save the given coefficient.

  • perform the measurement, entering or auto-calibration according to the relevant chapters and confirm the measured/entered value
  • when you see [ _ ] after confirming, press UP or DOWN to enter the memory number where you will save the coefficient
  • press the OK button to save the calibration value and memory number

ATTENTION. Entering the calibration coefficient into the memory does not activate it automatically.
