Azimuth configuration is necessary when you want to select azimuths and distances from tripmeter memory. In this case, you must first enter azimuths and distances into the tripmeter’s memory. You can do this in two ways:

  • use the keyboard to create a file with azimuths
  • using a computer, prepare a file containing azimuths and distances to the destination and upload it to the tripmeter using a flash drive.

When you do not use the tripmeter’s memory, and you enter azimuths and distances manually, you do not need to configure anything in the tripmeter.

Manually entering azimuths and distances into tripmeter memory

Entering the azimuths, the distance to the destination and the number of the box in which they appear in the roadbook into the tripmeter’s memory creates a data file in the tripmeter’s memory. During the rally, you will be able to select a ready set from memory: azimuth and distance. There will also be an option to enter the azimuth parameters manually.

  • press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the home screen position.
    When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this step
  • press OK for 6 seconds – a dash will appear on the display in field A (4 characters) and when it is flashing, enter the rate (e.g. rate 101.2 will be visible as 1012)
  • enter the course value using the buttons:
    • UP and DOWN briefly change the digit value,
    • OK briefly, which moves the digit to the left and allows you to enter the next digit
    • CLR briefly deletes the last digit (by pressing the menu you can completely withdraw from typing)
  • long press the OK button to save the course value and proceed to enter the distance
  • a dash will appear on the display in field C (6 characters) and when it is flashing, enter the distance (enter the distance in 10 meters. The distance of 2000m will be visible as 200)
  • enter the distance value using the buttons:
    • UP and DOWN briefly change the digit value,
    • OK briefly, which moves the digit to the left and allows you to enter the next digit,
    • CLR briefly deletes the last digit (by pressing the menu you can completely withdraw from entering)
  • long press the OK button to save the distance value and proceed to entering the grid number
  • a dash will appear on the display in field B (4 characters) and when it is flashing, enter the number of the box in which the azimuth drive occurs (maximum number can be 999)
  • enter the box number using the buttons:
    • UP and DOWN briefly change the digit value,
    • OK briefly, which moves the digit to the left and allows you to enter the next digit
    • CLR briefly deletes the last digit (by pressing the menu you can completely withdraw from typing)
  • long press the OK button to save the grid number
  • repeat the steps until you have entered all the points
  • press RUN to save points and proceed to review
  • long press MENU to exit to the home screen

Viewing the point memory while typing

While entering waypoints by pressing the [RUN] button, you can go to the waypoints stored in the memory.

  • press RUN while entering waypoints to enter waypoint viewing
  • press the UP or DOWN buttons to browse
  • press RUN to return to typing

Single point deletion

While entering waypoints, you can delete one currently displayed waypoint by pressing the [CLR] button

  • press RUN while entering waypoints to enter waypoint viewing
  • press the UP or DOWN buttons to browse
  • press CLR to clear the displayed point

Clearing all points

  • press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the home screen position.
  • When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this step
  • press CLR for 6 seconds and the displays will show CLEAR
  • press the OK button (the azimuths will be deleted) or the MENU button to return to the start screen without deleting the azimuths

Creating a file with azimuths on the PC

  • Using Notepad, create a file as in the example below:
    9=341.1/3659
    34=160.9/900
    67=100.9/1400
    71=99.9/23000
    90=359.0/100
    134=1.9/2500
    999=34.5/905
  • The example of the first row shows:
    • 9 – number of the square in the roadbook in which the first azimuth is written
    • 341.1 – course inscribed in a grid with azimuth
    • 3659 – distance in meters entered in the grid with azimuth
  • Name the file rc6.txt and save the file

ATTENTION. Creating a file with azimuths overwrites the file that is in the tripmeter’s memory and you lose it forever.

Copying the file to the tripmeter

  • press MENU long to bring the tripmeter to the home screen position.
  • When you see the start screen [ _ _ _ _ ] skip this step
  • insert the flash drive into the tripmeter’s USB port. Copying will take place automatically, which will be confirmed by the message File ok.
