Commute mode is a function of the Classic Tripmeter that allows you to measure distance, the value of which can be increased and decreased with the +10m/-10m switch.
The commute mode of the Classic Tripmeter is a special mode that allows the user to measure distances in an unusual way. In this mode, the value of the measured distance is not automatically calculated according to the actual distance traveled, but can be manually manipulated by the user. This means that the user can independently increase or decrease the value of the distance traveled, which is particularly useful in various sports applications such as rallying.
Operation of the commute mode is as follows:
- Activating commute mode:
To activate commute mode, select the appropriate option in the device menu or press the dedicated button. - Zeroing the distance:
At the beginning of the commute, it is recommended to zero the distance measurement, which can be done by pressing the ITERMEDIATE ZERO or TOTAL Z ERO button. - Increase/decrease distance:
During the commute, the user can independently increase or decrease the value of the measured distance. This is done with a +10m/-10m switch. Tilting the switch up adds 10 meters to the measured distance, while tilting it down subtracts 10 meters. If the switch is held in one of these positions, the tripmeter will continue to add or subtract distance at a rate of about 50 meters per second. - Completion of measurements:
Once the commute is complete, the user can terminate the measurements and exit the commute mode, returning to normal tripmeter operation. - Changing the counting direction:
Using the -/0/+ switch, the user can change the direction of road counting. With the switch to the right , the tripmeter will, count the road to the left, the tripmeter will count the road, while in the middle position, the tripmeter will not count the road.
Also remember that you can adjust the brightness of the screen with the Dimmer button. There are 15 backlighting thresholds to choose from, allowing you to adjust the brightness to suit the lighting conditions. Overall, the commute mode is an extremely useful tool that allows you to precisely measure and adjust distances according to your current needs.
